What do you enjoy most about working in manufacturing? I enjoy most the ability to see my work produce real-world products. It is very satisfying after working many hours over the last 2 to 3 years, to finally see the end-product being produced and hold it in your hand.
What attracted you to a career in manufacturing? My attraction to manufacturing stemmed from a desire to utilize complex techniques with cutting-edge technology to solve real-world problems. Many of the other career options I was interested in were heavily focused on only one of these aspects like R&D (cutting edge technology), or teaching (complex techniques).
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about creating their future in manufacturing? Realize that it is a career with a high level of flexibility and varying demands. At the start of your career, be open to learning and stretching yourself to new areas of manufacturing. Travel may seem like a burden, but it often provides the best opportunities to grow
