Description

Summary

Perform work involving the skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment or the structure of the establishment in repair.

Essential Functions
  • Observe, inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose and repair machine malfunctions.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Advise supervisor of repair needs.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand/power/precision tools and testing devices. Reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems (AC, Compressor, etc.) efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, clean, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring according to specifications.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Perform Lock Out/Tag Out functions and follow all safety procedures.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machine set up for production
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
  • Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Gather and empty trash/recyclables.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage
  • Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team; assisting coworkers with tasks and/or training
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Performs duties in other areas as needed.

Qualifications


Education & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
  • Valid drivers license
