Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The HC Companies is one of the leaders in horticultural container companies serving the needs of professional growers, grower distributors, retail garden centers and mass merchandisers in the Greenhouse, Nursery and Consumer markets. We have exciting opportunities on our 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm, additional $0.50/hr. shift differential) for Machine Operators in the Printing department here in our Sparks, NV location. Seeking individuals who want to be part of a team, have a can-do attitude and has the willingness to learn and grow within the organization.


  • Safely cut and change printing blankets.
  • Adjust ink for proper color.
  • Set-up labelers and printers.
  • Repair and build ink rollers.
  • Set form roller and plate pressures.
  • Adjust screw-feed timing.
  • Understand UV test strips for UV light/Quality.
  • Understand dyne levels for flamer/Quality.
  • Adjust UV light and flamer for quality.
  • Repair ink fountains.
  • Change printing plates.
  • Build and/or repair mandrels.
  • Adjust Print Registration.
  • Perform and document daily TPM’s.
  • Must be able to work and foster a safe work culture. 
  • Support all company policies and procedures including 5S and focused work teams.
  • Lead by example and perform all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements and Skills:

  • Basic skills:  critical thinking and reading comprehension,
  • Basic calculations (ability to count to 25)
  • Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with others.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to manage time well.
  • Excellent organization and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be flexible in working hours including overtime.
  • Negative pre-employment drug screen and ability to pass criminal background check.
