In the role of Design Validation Manager within the HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) DEG PE division, your responsibility will be to oversee a team of engineers. Your team will be involved in the development and implementation of innovative 2.5D and 3D solutions, including HBM, from an electrical and packaging standpoint! Your goal will be to ensure that designs are prepared and ready for timely launch. You will be tasked with fostering and leading an impactful team that feels both supported and empowered, and is committed to achieving success!

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Design Validation team will initiate collaborations with customers, TD, Test, and Manufacturing in advance of silicon arrival, as they are accountable for the majority of pre-silicon/DFMEA preparation within PE.

  • Work in tandem with other PE organizations such as System Engineering, Component Validation and Media Health teams to strategize validation prior to silicon arrival, and then collectively solve once silicon is received.

  • Ensure all silicon findings are resolved in line with the expected timelines for issue closure for the designs your team is handling.

  • Forge strong alliances with Design, Verification, Product Architecture, System Compatibility Group, and Silicon Strategy teams to deliver products in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Identify and spearhead ongoing improvement initiatives in the realm of design readiness to ensure swift implementation of learned lessons.

  • Work closely with the Product Leadership Team to ensure design readiness is fully incorporated into the overall product leadership strategy, and that strategies are in sync with product objectives/timelines.

  • Comprehend product support roadmaps and strategies to ensure your team is equipped to support assigned designs.

  • Distribute resources to meet deadlines and work you're doing within the group and set goals as part of the broader leadership team.

  • Assist in proactive hiring and team building to ensure preparedness ahead of requirement.

  • Enhance group performance through metrics and objectives.

  • As a team leader, you will offer coaching and career development, identify team strengths and weaknesses, and devise specific development plans with team members, conduct performance evaluations, provide recognition, and instill accountability across the team.

Education & Experience Necessary for Success:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.

  • At least 5 years of relevant technical experience is needed.

  • Prior experience in technical leadership is desirable.

  • Strong skills in circuit analysis and debugging are essential.

  • Knowledge of the DRAM is highly preferred.

  • Understanding of how product yields influence revenue is beneficial.

  • A proven track record of excellence in performance for current and previous responsibilities is required.

  • Recognition by the current team as a valuable mentor and team member is important.

  • Proven ability to resolve issues across various functional groups, both within and outside the department is necessary.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills are required.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and a history of being a good collaborator are important.

  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional teams across multiple locations is a plus.

  • Experience in people leadership is a plus.

  • Experience in task delegation and priority setting in a team setting is beneficial.

  • A passion for people leadership, with a commitment to continuous learning and development in this area, is crucial.

Provides management direction of all phases of a product from manufacturing introduction to completion. Functions as the central resource with design, manufacturing, quality and test as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals. Formulates and drives long term plans for cost/profit control. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
