Our company's Research Lab's Lab Systems and Sample Management within the Pharmacokinetic, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) department is seeking summer interns. The Global BA group at our company provides quantitative analysis of biologically derived samples for all of our company's discovery and development programs.

Learning opportunities for the prospective intern may include:

• Becoming familiar with technology used in modern day laboratories that they may not be exposed to in an academic setting and learn how to update/improve pipetting performance

• Optimizing the performance of the equipment for specific liquids, labware and volume ranges

• Analyzing and interpreting generated data to make data driven decisions

• The intern would be introduced and exposed to real world applications to concepts learned in their academic studies (eg. Beer’s Law)

• They would learn how to write basic programs on the Hamilton, interpret data, and optimize equipment performance

In addition to laboratory and/or instrumentation skills, the interns will have the opportunity to be engaged in scientific discussion and interpretation of data. The intern student will have an opportunity to present their research results in both oral and written formats.

We are seeking intern candidates at all levels with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi- functional environment.

Location: Spring House, PA

Education:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or higher education in the basic sciences or related field

• Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of studies towards a Bachelor’s degree by June 2024

Required Experience and Skills:

• Candidate must be able to commit to full-time onsite employment for 10 - 12 weeks beginning June 2024

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Basic laboratory skills and research experience, such as ligand binding assays (ELISA, etc.), basic pipetting, and dilution techniques

• Basic knowledge in biology and protein chemistry

• Basic computer programming experience

• Familarity with Automated Liquid Handlers (eg. Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman, etc…)

• Ability to follow procedures and thoroughly document experiments

• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills

• GPA of 3.0 or higher

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00 - $105,500.00
