Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for an Inspector for our Crossett, AR facility.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Reviews job orders to gain a clear understanding of customer specifications and requirements.
  • Visually inspects tubes from the tuber to insure the quality of the tube and insure proper machine operation.
  • Visually inspects bags as they are caught and fanned from production line for defects such as holes, paste missing, print quality wrinkles, length, width, perforations, etc.
  • Physically takes and stacks bundles of bags from production line to pallets or baling box according to production order specifications.
  • Verbally informs operator when quality standards are not being met. Physically stops equipment when jamming if operator is not near the control panel. Clears jam-ups on belt delivery systems.
  • May perform complicated math calculations (Fractions and/or decimals) when required or as job order requires.
  • Assists machine operator when requested in a set-up or equipment, keeps work area clean, and performs rework while equipment is not in operation.
  • Completes inspector tag by writing order number, customer name, bag size, etc and placing ticket on loaded skid.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times, as well as other duties assigned by operator and shift supervisor.
  • Cleans equipment between orders or when shutting down for long periods of time by using various cleaning supplies to clean paste from rollers, splash tins or paste pans. Assists in general housekeeping of work area like sweeping floors, cleaning grease from floor and blowing dust from machine with air hose and assuring compliance with SQF standards. 
  • Follows work order stacking pattern, to provide good, flat stacking of bags.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensures all loads are safely loaded and properly secured.
