SUMMARY:

CANNON Instrument Company is looking for a passionate and experienced Data Analyst to join the team located in State College, PA. As a Data Analyst at our company, you will play an extremely important role as your insights, findings and interpretation will be crucial for the company’s growth and success.

 

The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing existing data information sources and developing analytical reporting for the purposes of business decision making. The position will work closely with the systems engineer to develop further processes in data management and improve efficiency in collecting and analyzing data. The Data Analyst will work with the CANNON Leadership Team to define and drive business intelligence reporting via Tableau.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures.
  • Use data mining techniques to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
  • Provide expert data analysis to answer critical questions that will help users manage and understand the data and the trends; analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, security and administration of dashboards and KPIs utilizing the full extent of the Tableau system.
  • Develop and maintain custom SQL scripts and queries as needed.
  • SSRS Report creation and maintenance.
  • Creation of system policies and procedures in relation to good data management.
  • Implement and coordinate data management goals and objectives for the purpose of providing the efficient and effective functioning of system policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the implementation and rollout of reporting for the new CRM system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • BS in Business Analytics or similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • Advanced analytics capability is a preferred skill.
  • Familiar with quote-to-cash ERP system processes.
  • Experience using Tableau is a must.
  • Experience using CRM systems, a plus.
  • Demonstrable SSRS report creation.
  • Experience with SQL syntax and programming.
  • Advanced Excel is a must, MACROS level.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read manuals, video display screens and other related material and work at a computer screen frequently and throughout the day.
  • Occasionally standing, bending, stooping, and/or kneeling.
  • Sit for long periods in a typing position.
  • Lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently, fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance. The heavy objects to be lifted include personal computers, printers and related equipment.
