Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Project Leader who can manage all aspects of Engineering (Executive Seating) projects including schedules, budgets, risk, program strategy, program budgeting, program delivery, problem resolution, etc. This team member will be the primary Engineering contact for their program(s) for internal cross functional departments as well as external customers. The individual selected for this role will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitors project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion.
  • Manages all aspects of an engineering project and program.
  • Supports and liaises with Engineering, Product Support, Certification Engineering, Field Services, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Value Stream, and other internal & external stakeholders to establish understanding of engineering requirements.
  • Drives strategic program planning and assigns tasks to ensure business targets are met.
  • Identifies and drives demand for test articles/ prototypes; reports test article status and delivery schedules to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinates test activities and schedules .
  • Conducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Creates and maintains engineering project performance metrics.
  • Coordinates or leads continuous improvement initiatives that involve cross-functional team settings and responsibilities.
  • Identifies and reacts to complex project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources, and assisting resolution development.
  • Directs all phases of Engineering programs from inception through completion.
  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.
  • Represents Engineering as the primary customer Engineering contact.
  • Meets program schedules and budgets and maintains the integrated master schedules for project(s).
  • Travel up to 10-15%, based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for aircraft seating products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FAA requirements and various tasks involved in certification and testing of airplane interior components.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • PMP Certification

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
