The Human Resource Generalist, located at our Kaiser Aluminum plant in Chandler Arizona, reporting to Sr. Human Resources Manager will execute plant Human Resource functions, including but not limited to the hiring process, administering pay, benefits, and leave provisions, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position will support union and non-union employees and enable positive employee relations while supporting optimal productivity of our employees.

What you will work on: 

  • Recruits and interviews qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required and conducts pre-employment screenings.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer human resource programs and policies.
  • Partners with the union on disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
  • Handles routine labor relations inquiries related to policies, procedures, grievances, and the collective bargaining agreement; refers complex matters to Sr. Management. 
  • Reviews employee timecards and administers employee payroll changes.
  • Monitors and reports various HR metrics to Sr. HR Manager.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain and update various databases, spreadsheets, and reports while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide support to the team through assigned projects and day-to-day activities.
