About this opportunity:

The primary function of this position is to provide pipefitting services to the Lloydminster Upgrader Complex. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all work under your control is performed in a timely, safe and effective manner consistent with corporate and site-specific policies, procedures and guidelines. You will be required to work off a developed maintenance schedule but will also be required to work on priority work depending on plant needs at that time. You will also be accountable for providing Team Lead/Supervisor updates on job status and support planners on job package development. Matching background would be an asset but not essential.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

  • The successful candidate will work a modified day shift with every other Friday off.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner according to guidelines and regulations.

  • Read and interpret Isometric drawings and P&ID's

  • Fabrication of piping spools including as-built drawings and weld mapping.

  • Alignment and torquing of flanges.

  • Troubleshooting and repair of process piping.

  • Working with valves, pipe, as well as rigging and Securamax clamps.

  • Align with HS&E requirements in the performance of this position's responsibilities

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Journeyperson / Interprovincial Pipefitter Trade Certification (candidates registered as 4th Year apprentice may be considered)

  • Work well in all settings; team, contractor interactions, large and small diversified groups, and one on one format.

  • Must be able to clearly communicate with personnel to discuss and resolve problems and ensure that maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, and then formulate and implement short- and long-term solutions.

  • Provided technical recommendations for process and equipment improvements.

  • Interact with contract maintenance on an as needed basis

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or within a group.

  • Proficient with Microsoft programs. (excel, word, outlook, teams)

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Cause Failure Analysis

  • OH&S knowledge

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
