Gannett is looking for a talented Account Specialist to join our team. The right person will enjoy interacting with new and existing customers over the phone and develop productive partnerships with our Outside Sales team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a self-starter to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while getting exposure to a broad range of sales activities.

What will you do?

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • This position will be primarily working with existing customers.
  • Answer high volume of calls from customers; interact with clients via phone and email to process requests for advertising campaigns.
  • Provide superior customer service through quality assurance calls to increase sales opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain consistent work ethic and be resilient in a fast-paced environment; managing incoming queue calls, responding to inquiries, and working with internal partners to ensure client retention and generate new business
  • Identify customer needs through active listening and help customers navigate the value of our products; transitioning accounts to our sales team for upsell opportunities.
  • Take a consultative approach, acting as a trusted advisor to customers by connecting their unique needs to products and services that will help their business grow
  • Work in a collaborative team environment to drive revenue
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly& annual sales goals
  • Effectively manage daily sales and call activity via CRM(Salesforce)
  • We are a team and anticipate you’ll participate actively in engagement activities, selling contests and other elements of our culture.

What you bring to the table:

  • 1-2 years sales experience which can include previous digital sales experience, cross-selling, upselling, and referrals for products and services
  • College Degree or the equivalent related work experience, Media sales experience a real plus
  • Experience in high volume inbound/outbound, sales, telemarketing and/or other queue-based sales environment is required
  • Ability to communicate the benefits of our audience-based marketing solutions to fill client needs, then sell the appropriate campaign.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities during service calls
  • Dependability a MUST

The hourly rate for this role will range between $9.52 and $22.12. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
