About the A/P Specialist Role:

ChemTreat is looking for a confident and career-motivated individual to join our growing company. This individual will report directly to the AP Manager at our Glen Allen location. The right candidate will be responsible for providing data entry, accounting support, and communicating with company vendors in terms of invoice processing and payment.

In addition, the AP Specialist will be responsible for maintaining communication with internal parties both in the Accounting Department and with other departments. The right candidate must have excellent follow up skills, ability to work independently and with a team, strong computer skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.

What Will I Be Doing?

• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and corresponding documentation and approve for payment; Code & verify approval on invoices without purchase orders
• Challenge discrepancies and communicate with vendors to ensure a timely resolution
• Maintain files, vendor database, and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• May include intercompany reconciliation, EOM reporting, and balancing
• Download freight files and process payment journals
• Respond to & rectify vendor payment requests

What Are the Requirements?

• 2+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Strong computer skills including Excel & Word
• 2+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• Communication and Interpersonal skills; teamwork and leadership
• Previous experience with ERP systems a plus
