As part of Corporate Communications efforts to elevate and protect the Tyson Foods brand this position provides critical administrative support to the vice president of Corporate Communications and the department s leadership team and its efforts to proactively tell the company s story. It is an excellent entry-level role for someone with interest in pursuing a career in public relations or communications. The ideal candidate is resourceful a good problem solver excellent attention to detail adept and comfortable with accounting data and communications content. The candidate must have strong collaboration skills and the ability to effectively communicate ensuring that all tasks are completed and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner and open to learning and supporting a variety of new projects and tasks on a regular basis. Specific duties include a combination of strategic communications support administrative tasks and developmental opportunities. They include but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities 1.Coordinate and update the external communications calendar 2.Organize update and maintain the news media contact list 3.Assist with maintaining the company s position statement database 4.Provide overall invoice and budget management support including financial system support. 5.Receive and direct incoming calls including media inquiries 6.Layout and draft slide presentations and general correspondence 7.Plan and organize events for members of the team such as meetings and travel 8.Manage supply ordering receive and sort incoming mail and monitor coordinate repairs of office equipment 9.May assist with social media monitoring and reporting may work on selected external and internal communications writing assignments and may help coordinate external and internal communications events Experience: Two plus years experience in communications or business Education: High school degree; Bachelor s degree in communications or related studies preferred Computer Skills: Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Working knowledge of office equipment e.g. printers . Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite particularly Outlook Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with corporate deployments of SAP preferred. Communication Skills: Must possess excellent organizational verbal and written skills and be a self-starter; professional and approachable demeanor required since the role is a point of contact for both internal and external inquiries. Special Skills: Ability to prioritize and reprioritize well with limited amount of supervision; ability to collaborate and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; aptitude for general reporting and accounting and invoicing. LOCATION: This position will be based out of our Springdale, Arkansas office. Relocation assistance may be available for those who qualify based on the Tyson Relocation Policy.
