Applications Engineer Staff:
• Executes the planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technology and processes to resolve technical manufacturing problems.
• Technical and project management lead for the Manufacturing Technology efforts in the area of composite fabrication and machining in support of the Advanced Development Programs line of business.
• Performs functions such as budget and schedule management, status reporting, cost benefit analysis, trade studies, etc. as well as technology development functions, MRL (manufacturing readiness level) assessments, process definition and testing, industry capability evaluations and technical demonstrations.

The primary focus for this role is to integrate and manage the multiple Manufacturing Technology project efforts in the area composites and advanced materials manufacturing processes and automation.

In addition to this role's primary focus project support may include various areas of aerospace manufacturing ranging from:
• Metallic and composite fabrication
• Assembly
• System integration
• Aircraft finishes and coatings
• Manufacturing systems


In a lead role, this position requires:
• Coordinating a team of Manufacturing Technology personal towards execution program and enterprise related projects.
• Interfacing with program key personnel to determine needs, requirements, project justification and rationale.
• Providing overall Manufacturing Technology status.


This position includes:
• Engineering, technical, and project management support for projects within a range of project life cycles from manufacturing process investigation and development.
• Test and improvements
• Manufacturing equipment and system specification
• Procurement and supplier management
• Integration and production support.

Must be a US citizen, this position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications

• Project management experience

• Experience developing advanced technology

• Experience with technical requirements generation and equipment specification development

Desired skills

• Secret level security clearance

• Experience working in advanced manufacturing concepts as they relate to current and emerging aircraft platforms

• Knowledge of military aircraft design, fabrication, assembly, finishes, and inspection methods and tools

• Knowledge of industry best practices for a broad range of manufacturing techniques

• Experience in manufacturing fabrication processes in advanced materials, materials science, process engineering, and thin film processes

• Creative approach to technical problem solving

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $95,900 - $183,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, and New York is $110,300 - $207,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
