In this role, you will be the Deputy Project Manager and support both financial and technical program objectives within the Mechanical Engineering department. In this regard, you will be responsible for all aspects of the project plan including defining program requirements, guiding suppliers in the implementation of the plan, and then statusing the results. You will be a project manager responsible for the schedule/cost for both a supplier and your team’s labor.

In this role, you will:
• Coordinate planning, organization, control, system integration and completion of engineering projects within the specific area of assigned responsibility.
• Plan and formulate engineering program reviews, evaluate product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases.
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
• Establishment and maintenance of the control account budget baseline and estimates at completion
• Analysis of EVM performance data, support of CAMs in Variance Analysis and other financial matters
• Input and maintain progress and performance in LM’s cost tool (COBRA)
• Interface with planning to ensure cost and schedule integration
• Support internal and external customers in various meetings and data requests including monthly customer reviews and ad hoc requests
• Rolling Wave Planning, Integrated Baseline reviews and Internal Surveillance Reviews
• Month end reporting and submitting Customer deliverables

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master's in STEM-related field or equivalent professional experience and exposure commiserate with this level of knowledge
• Experience with Earned Value Management or Program Management
• Knowledge and experience with Control Account Managers in the analysis and presentation of financial information to management
• Any combination of experience in engineering project management, supplier management, annual budget proposals, technical evaluations, tracking and development of cost/schedule
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance; US citizenship is required

Desired skills

• Active Secret clearance
• LM CAM of record or PMP/PMI certification demonstrating earned value acumen.
• Missile and/or -related education or experience
• Experience with FBM processes and products
• Experience Materials and Process Engineering, specifically material interactions
• Experience in development, implementation, and report writing
• Experience in Engineering Research
• Experience as a project lead
• Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
• Exposure to or participation in quality activities or risk mitigation processes, root cause analysis, and/or corrective action disposition

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $79,800 - $152,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $91,700 - $172,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
