We are looking for someone to apply their avionics hardware technical expertise, natural leadership, organizational skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the bold missions at Blue Origin.

As the Avionics Spacecraft Networking Cybersecurity Engineer within this innovative and diverse team, you will be responsible for integrating and maintaining a spacecraft network security system for our spacecrafts. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and authentication. They will have a strong understanding of spacecraft communication protocols, operating systems, and software applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and maintain secure systems such as Cryptographic equipment for spacecrafts, using established NSA business processes and containing NSA approved algorithms.

  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures for spacecraft systems

  • Monitor spacecraft communication activity to identify potential security threats and breaches

  • Collaborate with other spacecraft systems engineers to ensure that all systems are properly secured and protected

  • Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing of spacecraft systems

  • Respond to security incidents and take appropriate action to mitigate risks

  • Stay up to date with the latest spacecraft cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities

  • Work with customers to provide spacecraft systems security assessments, security architecture design, and security consulting services.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in spacecraft systems security engineering

  • Knowledge of spacecraft communication protocols, operating systems, and software applications

  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and authentication

  • Familiarity with security compliance standards and regulations (e.g., NASA Security Policy, NIST, FIPS)

  • Certifications in spacecraft systems security such as CCSP, SSCP, CISSP, or equivalent.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.

Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $123,750-$181,500
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $135,000-$198,000
