Summary:
The Project Manager works with a variety of cross-function teams to manage the execution of a project from concept through delivery. The primary function of this role is to ensure projects (i.e. customer orders) are executed correctly and in a timely manner, serving as the communication liaison between Sales and Production.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
· Facilitate the execution of multiple projects, which includes collecting all necessary documentation, entering and managing data records in ERP system, ordering and tracking materials both internally and externally, elevating supply delays, etc.
· Maintain relationships with supply partners for sourcing of materials.
· Lead “New Item” meetings to ensure appropriate cross-functional teams provide the necessary front-end planning input to help ensure smooth execution of project.
· Identify and help resolve issues, while also elevating to the appropriate teams for proactive communication.
· Participate in customer tracker meetings/calls and be responsive to any unforeseen customer needs.
· Manage reports and trackers required for certain customers or processes.
· Provide after-hours support and answer questions from the plant when needed to fulfill production needs
Other Duties:
· Participate in continuous improvement efforts including process improvements and cost saving initiatives.
· Provide back-up support to other project managers when necessary.
· All other duties as assigned.
· Flexibility to assume other roles when business needs require movement of staff to other positions.
Qualifications:
This position requires fundamental computer skills and a high level of organization and attention to detail. A background in Displays and/or Packaging is helpful but not mandatory. Project managers need to be able to make decisions on the fly under high pressure situations from time to time. Proven ability to learn on the fly and adapt to evolving needs of the customer are required.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills are required in this role. The ability to deliver professional verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization, including directly to the customer, is essential. This would include the ability to delivery bad news from time to time and show the initiative in providing a possible solution for the customer to consider.
Work Environment:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work to support the business needs. Minimal travel will be expected.
Physical Demands:
Work requires periods of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds, using hands and fingers to feel, talking, and hearing. Work involving computers or telephone may be repetitive in nature.
