Schneider Digital EcoStruxure Technology Platform organization working closely with the Energy Management & Industrial Automation busineeses is building the next generation of a fully integrated Platform as a Service (PaaS) for IoT on the Edge and on the Cloud. This platform creates new business and technology capabilities for the group to develop Internet of Things enabled Digital Offers and grow Digital Services, to support our customers in their efficiency and sustainability challenges.

The EcoStruxure Platform Operations (Ops) team is managing the Cloud Infrastructure including Technical, Security and Financial Operations as well as Azure Infrastructure management, DevOps foundations, Observability, Container platforms lifecycle and 24x7 Support for the whole organization based on Azure cloud, Azure Kubernetest Services, Docker, Open Telemetry and other technologies.

The team operates as an agile organization, focused on efficiency, collaboration and innovation.

All services, offers, technological platforms, are hosted and operated in public cloud environments (Azure), and make an extensive use not only of IaaS services but also of PaaS/SaaS services.

Job Purpose:

To support Schneider Electric's Cloud Transformation program, a central platform has been created on top of Azure called the Landing Zone so that Schneider Electric governance is enforced on all resources deployed on the cloud. A product team has been formed to manage governance as a product so that this Azure Landing Zone can be adapted dynamically to address some new business cases, adjust to evolutions made in Schneider Electric policies, certify new Azure Services.

We are looking for a Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for delivering and operating the Landing Zone platform working alongside team members deployed in APAC, EMEA and NAM. You will be part of the global Landing Zone platform team and ensure that operational feedback can be brought to the team attention with no latency and improvements are made to the platform on a continuous basis

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in all SCRUM ceremonies and help implement new requirements from the backlog
    • Propose design adaptations to help of the operability side to the Landing Zone architect
  • Automate everything. Automation guidelines will be unique between infrastructure engineers and SRE’s. Manual requests will be undertaken by SRE’s with the intent of automating tasks whenever possible
  • Answer technical questions related to Azure Infrastructure
  • Consolidate & continuously share knowledge into publicly accessible FAQ’s
  • On call duties. Coordinate with other teams such as network, DNS, Active Directory teams during incidents.
    • Contribute to Root cause analysis document after any major incident.
    • Proactive monitoring to detect signs of any upcoming issues. Create alerts and corresponding Incident Response Plans, and possibly, automated remediation.
    • Liaise with Microsoft support whenever required
  • Address operational alerts detected by Microsoft such as capacity issues, vulnerability identified, unexpected failures and so on. Liaise with subscription owner to get those errors resolved.
    • Scanning of existing Landing Zone subscription to identify any gap with Schneider Electric security posture including patch management

 

 

 Qualifications - External

Technical & Soft skills

The candidate is expected to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experienced in engineering/operating IT Infrastructure solutions in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS. Preferably on Azure Cloud
  • Strong experience in scripting & automating with Terraform, Ansible, Bash, PowerShell or Python
  • Good cloud networking knowledge covering macro and micro-segmentation, Landing Zone, Microsoft cloud Adoption framework,  Hub & spoke models,  Virtual Networks/VPCs, sub-netting, NSG’s,  route tables, VPN, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, IPsec, Load Balancing, DHCP, DNS, AWS Route53/ Azure Private DNS Zones, NTP, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Policies, Azure Load balancers, Azure App services, Azure Storage , Azure ARM templates
  • Strong, working knowledge of Configuration and Infrastructure as Code on Terraform, Ansible & CI/CD tools like Github actions, Azure Devops
  • Authentication, Directory Services, LDAP and IAM: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Certificate Services, PKI, Single Sign-On, AWS IAM.

    • 5+ years’ experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer or SRE
    • 3-5 years’ experience engineering/operating IT Infrastructure solutions in public cloud platforms Microsoft Azure, AWS
    • Relevant professional certifications: Cloud: Microsoft Azure AZ-104. AZ-700, AZ- 305
    • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
