SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and oversight to all CNC machinists. This position also must operate the manual equipment. This position is in Northstar’s Manufacturing Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Set-up and run Vertical, Horizontal 4 and 5-Axis mills to machine complex rotor craft housings.
- Produce High Quality at the Source. Coordinates effort with data from CMM reports.
- Prove out new CNC programs during New Product Introduction.
- Team with Engineering to develop class leading manufacturing processes.
- Implement New Technologies for our machining processes and work-holding solutions.
- Knowledge of materials and cutting conditions.
- Participates in daily GEMBA and Kaizen events.
- Adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices
- Helps schedule resources in areas to ensure daily work is achieved
- Maintain highly efficient work process using Lean principles to support cost reduction activity
- Responsible for operating various CNC machines and equipment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

- Occasional sitting, writing and typing
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
- The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Required: 5 years’ experience with CNC aerospace machining
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED
