POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Community and Corporate Wellbeing provides leadership in the development, integration and management of the Bass Pro Shops Fitness Series and Wellbeing programs. This position will also provide administrative coordination of Base Camp Fitness Center, event planning, data management, social media management and program development to enhance Wellbeing and Fitness Series engagement of Outfitters and our Fitness Series participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Contributes to the success of the fitness series program that includes up to 9 event weekends and impacts up to 25,000 participants through direction of event planning, marketing ads, email campaigns, organization of food donation, direction and coordination of Health and Wellbeing Expo and other race logistical components such as registration, preparation and consolidation of supplies, etc.

  • Ensures and enhances Bass Pro Shops Fitness Series and Wellbeing brand awareness and operational success through website design, content development, registration management, supervision of internal and external Brand Ambassadors and social media management; coordinates total company wellbeing programming including virtual running and walking competitions, month-long wellbeing initiatives and general wellbeing programming at Base Camp in conjunction with wellbeing team.

  • Creatives preparation and dissemination of marketing and educational materials to Fitness Series participants, Fitness Center members, Outfitters, and community members.

  • Directs the interaction between the YMCA and Bass Pro Shops to ensure appropriate Fitness Center staffing, classes, and events; Supervision of onsite YMCA staff; guidance of programs and operations of the Fitness Center facility.

  • Develops customer service and registration policy to improve Fitness Series participant and Bass Pro Shops Outfitter experience.

  • Ensures safe, clean facilities and equipment for users of the fitness facility by leading the Fitness Center Advisory Group to gather associate feedback about all aspects of the fitness facility.

  • Develops programs to aid in the wellbeing of Outfitters such as blood drives, lactation rooms/new parent programming, lunch & learns and extracurricular activities, etc.

  • Tracks budgets by reconciling the purchasing card, inputting income and merchandise sales.

  • Assists with inventory control of Wellbeing and Fitness Series product.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Preferred: BS or BA Degree in Wellbeing, Health, Event Planning, Marketing or Recreation

  • Experience: 4 years’ experience with Marketing, Wellbeing, Event Planning or combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a clear driving record

  • Ability to communicate both in written and oral form

  • Knowledge of and previous experience in fitness, wellbeing/wellness principles and practices

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Willingness to ask questions

  • Strong organizational & time management skills

  • Computer skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to work independently and with others

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and bend, twist and turn with the weight

  • Knowledge of social media tools and experience using them

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10%Local and regional travel during events, for meetings and to travel to other events:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.

  • Occasionally walks, stands, and lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
