Job Title: Component Engineer

Location: Westminster, Colorado or Fully Remote

Department: Engineering Services (Manufacturing Operations)

What You Will Do

In this role you will be part of the Engineering Services team. Engineering Services is a centralized Operations Department that provides services that encompass all of the technical aspects of printed circuit board assemblies. As a Component Engineer you will be influencing component selection taking into consideration form, fit, function, lifecycle, material compliance, cost, and other parameters. You will be supporting internal customers and manufacturing partners throughout the full (NPI / Sustaining / EOL) lifecycle of hardware products.

  • Analyze and optimize BOMs down to manufacturer part level

  • Technical representative in cost reduction and avoidance strategies

  • Track part lifecycles and monitor qualification of EOL/Obsolete component solutions

  • Interface for EMS part problems and support multi-sourcing

  • Focal person for component failure analysis and tracking of corrective actions to closure

  • Communicate component technology roadmaps and trends to internal customers

Measures of Success

  • NPI launch with no end of life components

  • Component technologies selected for products are in line with supply chain strategies

  • Up-to-date and accurate component data in Agile PLM and CAD databases

  • Component technical issues are resolved and closed

  • Support and implement cost improvement projects

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Electronic or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent with 5 years’ minimum related experience

  • Collaborative approach to communications and project management

  • Highly accurate with meticulous attention to detail

  • Independent proactive self-starter with experience solving complex problems

  • Working-knowledge of PLM item management and change management

  • Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, G-Suite Tools

About Your Location

This is a full-time role and open to Westminster, Co or Fully Remote. Travel is not typically required for this role, but if fully remote may require travel to Westminster occasionally.
