Computer Scientist-Machine Learning
SRI International
Princeton, NJ
Overview
SRI International’s Center for Vision Technologies offers end-to-end machine learning solutions that translate into real-world applications. Our scientists have pioneered real-time, real-world systems in multimodal (text, audio, and vision) analytics, 3D scene understanding, object recognition, and activity recognition. We continue today with fundamental research addressing open problems in machine learning and AI such as machine learning at the edge, zero shot learning, low-power real-time ML and neuromorphic hardware, explainability, robustness to adversarial attacks and lifelong learning. We are building scalable and adaptive cognitive systems, to enable analysis with unprecedented speed and precision.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a creative and energetic research scientist with a strong academic and practical background in machine learning. A successful candidate needs to demonstrate the ability of conducting state-of-the-art research, preferably in the areas of hardware-algorithm codesign of neuromorphic architecture, lifelong learning, robust machine learning and explainable AI. The goal of the research is to develop end-to-end systems in applications for imaging, vision and other sensing domains. The right candidate will possess a strong technical background and software development understanding methods for working across different programs and teams.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, machine learning, high efficient neuromorphic computing, reinforcement learning, computer vision or related AI fields.
- Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance. Current active Secret clearance a plus.
- Have publications in top-tier conferences or journals in your field.
- Have strong understanding in fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning, common problem formulations for optimization and their distinct features, and knowledge of state-of-the-art solution approaches.
- Have experience with one or more of the following:
- deep learning
- reinforcement learning
- graph algorithms
- robust optimization
- continual learning
- probabilistic inference.
- Have solid programming skills, including experience with Python, Matlab or C++.
- Have experience with deep learning software packages (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Strong Software Engineering skills
