Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

The Missions Systems product line, as part of the C4ISR business unit within the Electronics Systems (ES) sector of BAE Systems, is seeking a Data Management candidate to join our Configuration/Data Management Team.  Because of the needs of this role, work must be conducted at a BAE systems facility.

The Data Manager assists and supports the engineering team in planning, preparing, organizing, controlling, and submitting contractually required data. The work is guided by Data Management (DM) policies and procedures, and is vital to the performance of a program throughout its lifecycle. 

Responsibilities:
  • Review contractual deliveries prior to submission, checking for accuracy, legibility, and adherence to contractual or Data Item Description (DID) requirements.
  • Update, manage and maintain the CDRL database to ensure accuracy of records and troubleshoot as needed if issues arise.
  • Provide frequent communication including reminders, reports and delivery schedules to internal and external personnel regularly and by request.
  • Obtain and maintain access to various external government websites and resources to deliver contractual data.
  • Responsible for archiving contractual data deliveries and program plans in adherence with Record Retention Policies.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports, metrics and documents.
  • Collaborate with various other groups including Engineering, Program Management, Contracts Management, Configuration Management, Finance, etc.
  • Provide oversight for internal program documents and data repository access and architecture.

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree, and 4+ years of related experience or equivalent
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance
  • Experience reviewing and understanding Contract Statement of Work with regards to Data Management, Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs), and Government Form DD1423
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations and provide guidance to team members regarding contractual and internal requirements
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access)
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers in multiple geographic locations

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with enterprise PLM tool (e.g, Enovia)
  • Understanding of U.S. export laws as they pertain to exporting technical data
  • Experience with other enterprise tools (e.g., DOORS, Jira, SharePoint, Confluence)
  • NDIA Configuration/Data Management Certification
