Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Software Configuration Management team. In this role you will be working closely with software engineers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders in our fast-paced, innovative environment to identify applicable changes, manage version control, and ensure appropriate processes are followed to release and distribute products to internal and external customers.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Software Configuration and Data Management standards, processes, systems and tools.
  • Performs software baseline audits to ensure products contain only the approved content.
  • Ensures appropriate release and distribution of software products.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive government or commercial configuration management experience. Equivalent professional government or commercial configuration management experience may be substituted in lieu of education. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of configuration management principles applied to software configuration items.
  • Understanding of software development concepts, principles, and theory.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of routine and non-routine problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Excellent computer and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentations skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.
  • Experience with the following technologies is also preferred:
    • Source control repositories (Git, SVN, TFS, etc.)
    • Binary repositories (Artifactory, etc.)
    • Software package managers and associated tools (Pypi, pip, RPMs, yum, etc.)
    • Software Continuous Integration (CI) Environments (Jenkins, Gitlab, etc.)
    • Product Lifecycle Management Software (Windchill)
    • System administration (Windows, Linux)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
