Supervise and lead the activities related to plant quality operations to confirm the presence of built quality on the manufacturing plant floor. This position will lead a team of hourly employees, to develop and execute effective standardized work to confirm the presence of built quality based on risk. Additional confirmation activities, product sorting and validation of quality methods included through development and execution of layered audit processes. Direct implementation of BIQ concepts based on the strategic plan of the Quality Manager.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Supervision and coordination of work activities of hourly production hourly employees.
  • Feedback daily defects to management personnel and production employees.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations to employees.
  • Establish and adjust manpower to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Administer disciplinary action as needed.
  • Inspection of products to verify conformance to specification and problem resolution/general maintenance of machinery.
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Set up containment when required.
  • Communicate shop floor problems/defects to the personnel responsible for corrective action.
  • Set up schedule of inspection and testing regarding new launches.
  • Assure adherence of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by ensuring that quality policies, procedures, and processes are followed.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance related to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.


  • BS degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum experience of five (5) years in Quality Management.
  • Minimum experience of five (2) years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with ISO9000 requirements.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality development, analysis, and containment activities.
  • Knowledge of component measurement processes, tools, systems, and methods.
