Job Description
• Responsible for the performance of surveillance and witness of activities during fabrication to verify compliance to contract quality requirements
• Participate in the planning, performance and reporting of quality audits when needed
• Actively promote a quality program focusing on prevention of quality problems
• Identify areas for continuous performance improvement of processes and procedures
• Responsible for verification of corrective actions resulting from audits and surveillance activities
• Responsible for coordination of quality activities with fabrication staff and client representatives.
• Maintain quality inspection procedures for fabrication management
• Provide technical assistance and training to fabrication supervision and staff
• Review Contractor’s Procedures and Quality Verification Documents (QVDs) to implement tagging matrix per system in coordination with Field Engineering and Turnover Manager
• Review all contractors Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure they are scope specific and reference applicable requirements, project specifications, Standards and Codes
• Ensure Hold, Witness, Surveillance and Review points are agreed with stakeholders
• Utilize the QMS (Quality Management System) web-based Fluor automation tool to manage quality documentation throughout fabrication
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fourteen (14) years if non-degreed
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
• Eight (8) years of quality assurance/quality control work experience with at least five (5) of those years having supervision or management experience
• Current certifications in Radiographic Interpretation, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Positive Material Identification, Hardness, API Inspection, and AWS CWI are an advantage
• Moderate interpersonal and communication skills
• Moderate leadership and decision-making skills
• Moderate computer skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets
Other Job Requirements
• Must have experience in intumescent fireproofing and cryogenic insulation
• Must hold a current NACE Level I or II coatings inspection certification
• 10 years of construction industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in Site Quality
