Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create a high-level master schedule that incorporates the initial CPM schedule and the contractors’ schedule
  • Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base line, status, and perform measurement baseline
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration
  • Track critical activities and changes to the critical path impacting the project.
  • Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting
  • Keep an eye on program milestones and interdependencies and compare vs baseline to identify potential issues. Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems
  • Utilize industry accepted methodologies to analyze delays
  • Provide information on items impacting the project schedule
  • Responsible for spotting the critical path, as well as offering alternatives to regain slippage to the schedule
  • Document changes integrated into the project schedule
  • Provide a summary and report on project progress
  • Spot project risks and include impact analysis for review by project team
  • Responsible for maintaining current and standardized job files.
  • Work closely with Owner, Engineering, Contractors and Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules.
  • Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects, both internal and external progress reports.
  • Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including dashboard maintenance
  • Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews
  • Provide project specific schedule reports such as: Early Start Reports, Actual vs Remaining Cash Flow, CPM Schedule Narrative Reports, Predecessor-Successor Reports, Total Float Variance Reports, and Schedule Look Aheads.
  • Provide portfolio level schedule variance reports to Management.
  • Training of Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to learn, or increase skills in, project scheduling company wide

Supervisory Responsibilities                                 

This position has no current supervisory responsibilities. Must have ability to delegate specific responsibilities to team members and to manage those team members to ensure adherence to the goals of the team with accountability.

Education and/or Experience            

Bachelor's Degree preferred, plus a minimum of 2-5 years project experience, with construction scheduling, construction management, and project controls

 

Preferred experience:

Background in construction administration experience preferred.  Experience with Construction Management Systems preferred. Familiar with project management processes. Have extensive knowledge of CPM scheduling and planning.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills             

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                    

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills       

Knowledge of scheduling software, preferably Microsoft Project and Primavera P6; Project Management software; Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

PMP and/or PMI-SP certification a plus
