Stellar is seeking a full-time Superintendent I to join our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and direct supervision of K-12 and other institutional projects, and work with Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the project remains on schedule within allocated budget. The Superintendent regularly supervises work of employees and subcontractors, inspects and verifies work in progress, and strictly enforces compliance with safety procedures. 

  • Along with Superintendent at times, is in complete and responsible charge of project construction. Coordinates and directs all trades on the project, including subcontractors according to Superintendent’s direction
  • Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
  • Assembles members of the organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) at the start of the project
  • Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
  • Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within workforce
  • Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules
  • Prepares or reviews Daily Logs on progress, materials used and installed, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
  • Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations
  • Manages 10 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 10+ employees in the Construction site workers and subcontractors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Supervises Assistant Superintendent and Subcontractor’s Foreman
  • Reports to the General Superintendent
  • 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent or similar role
  • K-12 or Higher Education project experience required
  • Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
  • Supervisory Responsibilities may include nights and weekends subject to the facility needs
