Ameresco is currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our Design Build Construction Team in providing leadership, planning and construction management expertise for the scheduling, execution and successful delivery of our multimillion-dollar Design Build construction projects. This opportunity is based out of Ft. Totten, Queens, NY.

Responsibilities:

Provide onsite leadership for direct subcontractor workforce, control and direction of all field and construction management activities;

Work with the Project Manager to ensure timely regulatory compliance and reporting;

Monitor and report on project progress and update weekly look ahead schedules for prompt payment;

Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors and other construction personnel to determine project needs;

Ensure job site remains safe, clean and orderly;

Resolve on-site issues and emergencies;

Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget;

Provide onsite leadership for direct subcontractor workforce, control and direction of all field and construction management activities; and

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years’ previous as a construction superintendent on an Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or NAVFAC construction project.

Additional Qualifications:

In depth knowledge of the federal construction process to include scheduling, contract administration, required jobsite equipment, manpower, etc.

Self-Starter and ability to lead field operations and forecast future roadblocks.

Thorough understanding of how RFIs, Change Orders and other government processes work.

Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.

Computer software proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word, Procore, construction industry Project Management Information System required.

Previous experience with government software RMS and eCMS a plus.

OSHA 30-hour Certification required but can be obtained within 30 days if needed to be updated or obtained.

Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, building systems, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
