Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Customs and Trade Compliance Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Consultant, Trade Facilitation.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead project plans to achieve legacy integration strategy of operational trade compliance teams to enhance efficiencies while maintaining regulatory trade compliance processes. Enhancing overall department project management, providing direction, and setting priorities across a broad range of disciplines.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Trade Facilitation, the person in this role will support the Customs and Trade Compliance department's objective to support key stakeholders such as Toyota Logistics Services (TLS), North American Manufacturing Companies (NAMC’s), Production Engineering (PE), R&D, & North American Parts Organization (NAPO).

What you’ll be doing

  • Leads and oversees key projects that are critical to optimizing integration efforts and efficiencies of legacy TMS and TEMA functions while maintaining the highest compliance standards.

  • Import Operations: Leading Broker Selection, Trade Lane Business Alignment with all FBUs, SME-leading crisis management, and problem-solving activity.

  • S Systems: Broker Performance Management KPIs & Kaizen within the SAP systems – Significant impact for new & / or different business models to support broad company and enhanced compliance program framework initiatives.

  • Line 1 & 2 Compliance Defense Functional Structures: Gap Analysis, JKK/TBP, Risk Mitigation & Kaizen Leader.

  • Interpretation of CTC vision and development of actionable and strategic implementation plans.

What you bring

  • Eight (8) years Industry specific trade experience.

  • Three (3) years of Toyota-specific trade experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, quality, process development, & kaizen mindset.

  • Proven ability to work with, influence, coordinate, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Fundamental knowledge of 15CFR, 19CFR, & 22CFR Regulations and their application to daily operations within a Global Supply Chain network.

Added bonus if you have

  • Graduate Degree.

  • Professional Trade Compliance Certifications (e.g. CUSECO, CCS, LCB).

  • Knowledge of SAP-GTS or other Global Trade Management System software.
