ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking an established Technical Sales Engineer to join our New York City team! You will market and sell Carrier Applied and Industrial HVAC products and solutions to current and potential customers within our territory. We have an experienced sales team and staff that will provide you with the proper training and support.
Achieve annual sales, gross margin, and market share targets.
Lead and grow assigned territory and business through existing accounts and develop new accounts by identifying potential customers and building solid long-term relationships.
Routinely call on and support our customers, which include Consulting MEP firms and facility owners/developers (school districts, universities, hospitals, private corporations).
Follow-up with customers by assisting with bid day operations.
Promote Carrier's line card of products, attend trade shows and marketing events, supporting our local educational efforts.
BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field with years 5+ years of relevant work experience; or
AA/AS degree with 7+ years of relevant work experience
Working knowledge of HVAC design and application tools.
Public sector sales experience required; experience in selling to US government agencies preferred.
PE Certification desired.
LEED AP accreditation is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with Salesforce preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both external customers and cross-functional teams of sales, engineering, manufacturing & marketing associates.
A sense of urgency, self-initiative, dedication, and a sense of ownership is a must.
Outstanding follow-up and follow-through skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to prioritize.
Unwavering customer service orientation.
