JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Crusher Operator is responsible for the performance of the following duties in a safe and productive manner:

 

Job Duties (Not Limited to):

  • Operates panel board to control conveying, crushing, and sizing of ore to prepare it for leaching
  • Observes dials and gauges to route ore through a series of screens and crushers
  • Monitor machine amperages to determine load on conveyors and regulates loads
  • Observes panel lights and meters for indication of overloads, malfunctions or plugged chutes, and shuts down plant or adjusts controls to regulate feed
  • Notifies maintenance and loading personnel of delays or malfunctions
  • Does minor maintenance and preventive maintenance to crushing system
  • Some heavy equipment operation is necessary to clean up and feed crushing system
  • Clean up crusher area including hand shoveling, skid steer operation, compressed air operating, etc. 
  • Some supervision of other crusher attendants
  • Notifies foreman of parts that need to be replaced and of operating problems that are encountered
  • Responsible for the operation of the crusher system
  • Create work orders and job requests when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and citation-free mine site environment
  • Perform daily workplace and equipment safety inspections 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Follow all procedures and safety measures such as, confined space, working at heights, etc., to assure safe production
  • Work in all conditions and environments, approximately 80% of job is outdoors
  • Able to lift 65 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily
  • Able to travel up and down stairs on a regular basis

  • 5-5-4 Rotational Shift Schedule

 

Preferred background/education 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent 
  • A vocational-technical college degree
  • 0-1 years’ experience in equipment maintenance
