Cycle Counter

What is the position?

The Cycle Counter is responsible for counting standard and multi-pack quantities comparing results with system data.  In addition, will assist in investigating material variances and performing recounts as required.

 What will I do? 

  • Count & reconcile randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on daily basis.
  • Assist in developing solutions to shortages, overages, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain inventory cycle count and pi programs.  Maintain accurate cycle counts & inventory auditing in all depts.  Ensure all scans performed correctly.
  • Ensures compliance to inv processes & procedures.  Adheres to cycle count procedures & guidelines.
  • Maintains and modifies excel spreadsheets.
  • Participates in all pi activity.
  • Ability to correct root problems rather than continuing to maintain them.  Ability to collect all data relevant to problematic situation.
  • Investigate origin of discrepancy.
  • Accurately and efficiently locate material physically and in JDE.
  • Ability to effectively verbalize and/or document areas of deficiency in areas of inv control.
  • Must meet department quality, attendance and productivity requirements.

What do I need?  

  • High School diploma/GED required 
  • 1 year of warehouse experience or equivalent 
  • Working knowledge of SAP/Oracle/JDE or other WMS
  • Basic computer skills including Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to read and follow processes and policies  
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to use the Hand (RF) scanner effectively and efficiently. 
  • Strong problem solving and basic math skills required
  • Six months of prior inventory control experience preferred


This position may exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to grasp, finger, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Incumbent will be required to perform dynamic activities including reaching and stretching, as well as, frequent bending and twisting of the torso.
