Responsibilities

         

The Director of Continous Process Improvement leads and directs process improvement initiatives utilizing process improvement methodologies in the analysis of current operations and design of improvement projects across all areas of the Finance department function that reports to CFO.  This position works closely with various functional leaders to drive prioritization of improvement opportunities and alignment across various functional areas.   Responsibilities include the execution of strategic process initiatives across the organization leveraging best practices and technology to further improve processes where appropriate, including incorporating automation.

 

The Director of Process Improvement should

  • Develop process-focused capabilities to increase organizational agility and responsiveness to change
  • Serve as a primary process improvement resource across assigned transformation workstream(s)
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and independent research to fully understand current process and identify gaps to fill
  • Identify process breakdowns and offer improvement suggestions to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Identify appropriate technology options to automate or digitize existing work streams if applicable.
  • Leverage best practices, industry standards, methodologies, and frameworks to define and execute on the transformation vision and strategy
  • Facilitate a network to share best practices and develop talent

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

OPERATIONS

  • Works closely with the organization's functional leaders to help identify the organization's toughest issues and provides internal consulting support for evaluation and implementation of streamlined solutions across the organization.
  • Provides tactical business transformational support for functional owners in the identification, development and execution of strategic actions.
  • Develops new business operational tools and processes and trains team members across the organization to drive adaptation and use.
  • Leads critical initiatives requiring analytical and decision support to frame key issues, develop hypotheses, assess risks, conduct analyses, and test potential solutions prior to mobilizing commitment and designing broader implementation and engagement plans.
  • Collates improvement initiatives and equates improvements in terms of Productivity and Efficiency metrics with detailed analytics to support business transformation results.
  • Utilizes change management principles, processes, tools, and identifies change strategies, assesses stakeholder impacts and organizational readiness, communicates with and trains facility participants, provides appropriate levels of support and supervision, and measures project effectiveness.

 

 

Qualifications

Experience & Education

 

REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree or Masters Degree in Finance or related financial field
  • 10+ years experience in leading enterprise-wide continuous improvement projects and developing best practices to drive process quality and efficiency.  (15 + years experience preferred)
  • Experience in coordinating project activities and develop work assignments for self and others, and working across multiple functions (ex. manufacturing, engineering, operations, finance and human resources) to help solve important process challenges.
  • Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

REQUIRED

  • Good negotiation skills

  • Understanding of lean principles with the ability to implement rapid continuous improvement
  • Hands-on, results-oriented and pragmatic.
