Job Details

What you will do:

This position's main mission is to support design engineering functions with 3D CAD modeling, designing, 2D drawings, calculations and conversions using appropriate instruments, based on technical specifications, and following previously established operating procedures and designing guidelines.

How you will do it

· Leveraging advanced CAD experience, proficiencies, and software to create models and drawings of parts, assemblies, and complete products

· Liaising and collaborating with engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs

· Calculating dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials

· Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings

· Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems

· Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering team

· Using experience and judgement to manage multiple, complex drafting and design projects and assignments simultaneously, with little supervision

· Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations

· Commit to the elimination of unsafe conditions, using appropriate PPE equipment and complying with pre-established rules (Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality), being aware of internal policies and procedures.

Required

· Advanced skills in MS Office

· Advanced skills in applicable CAD software (Creo ProE preferred)

· Familiarity with ASME Y14.5

· Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently and demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.

Education

- High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage and proven experience as Product Designer or similar role for more than 5 years.

Preferred

· Candidates with knowledge in a related industry preferred.
