Job Summary

The Ecommerce Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Ecommerce, including online sales, employee management, financial performance, margin goals and operating budget.  This position implements strategy for Ecommerce operations and oversees daily operations, directs, and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Manages departmental structure, development, and training of staff. 
  • Continues to improve processes and procedures to maximize revenue and margin from donated goods through online sales.
  • Oversees the proper procedures for handling and sales of Ecommerce merchandise. Trains retail staff to maximize donated goods being sent to Ecommerce.
  • Oversees security procedures and audits incoming merchandise for loss control.
  • Complies with applicable safety rules, laws, and practices; uses proper safety equipment and procedures in all operations.
  • Shares knowledge and keeps others informed of industry developments and provides education on business fundamentals. 
  • Applies insights and industry trends to drive critical initiatives. 
  • Helps others understand their contributions to the success of the broader organization.
  • Visit or communicate with retail stores weekly. Work with the stores to track items to post online based on current market trends.
  • Track all expenses associated with shipping and handling.
  • Ensure that the ecommerce department is presenting quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all shoppers, donors, employees, and program participants. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly store processing area, maintain good housekeeping and work environment.  
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years managerial experience or experience equivalency and a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 
  • Must have computer experience in MS Office Suite, online web browsing, and photo editing software.

 

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years managerial experience or experience equivalency and a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

 

Physical Requirements

These work environment factors are general in nature: Remain stationary for sustained periods of time; ability to move about to accomplish tasks; must be able to operate a computer or similar technology, which typically involves substantial motions of wrist, hands and/or fingers; visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing data, operating equipment or review thoroughness of work; ability to communicate with others and exchange information.  Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/pr moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.  Moves about to accomplish tasks. Lift:  Raises objects from lower to higher position or moves objects horizontally. Reach:  Extending upwards or downwards to retrieve objects. Subject to weather conditions.
