ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Monitors and ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, Local, and internal safety standards.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Identify, monitor and improve the efficiency, waste reduction, output and safety of manufacturing processes through production data collection and process analysis.
- Create, edit, and maintain necessary documentation.
- Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts to reduce rework and variation throughout the company’s processes. (Greenbelt Training)
- Work closely with other plant functions for process/quality control of raw material improvements.
- Assume responsibility for safety and environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes improvements. (EHS and Suggestion)
- Oversees incident investigation process and maintain accident prevention initiatives in the plant.
- Manages employee medical care and worker’s compensation claims.
- Identifies root cause and implements corrective actions, follows up to ensure corrective actions are followed long-term.
- Manages and updates environmental permitting (Air, Water, Waste, Tier II), submits all required reports (quarterly and annually).
- Routinely performs industrial hygiene air and noise monitoring.
- Utilizes EHS consultants as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Knowledge of training techniques.

- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and basic computer programs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master’s degree desirable.
- Five years of related experience preferred.
- Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED.
- ASP or CSP highly preferred.
