Job Summary:

This position is responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and supporting electrical systems. Projects may include both embedded and non-embedded applications.   The group proves the feasibility of the technology through laboratory and customer-related demonstrations and leads the electrical oriented product development efforts. The electrical group provides all the electrical development support, test functions and design for high reliability possibly including supporting analytical support documentation. Close coordination with the mechanical engineering teams is critical. 

Job Responsibilities: 

Specific duties to include, but not limited to: 

• Work with core sensing engineering teams to define, develop, and improve sensing systems product line.
• Support all new and existing electronics as well as participate in problem solving activities related to design, quality, and manufacturing of electromechanical products. 
• Generate engineering documentation including but not limited to reliability analyses, derating reports, MTBF calculations, FMEAs, PFMEAs, and EEE parts lists. 
• Initiate and performs specialized research to aid in the development of technically advanced electronic solutions which can withstand the harsh environments of rocket flight and subsea drilling.
• Develop engineering and technical data to meet compliance to standards.
• Assist and/or lead the technical effort in preparing and submitting value driven technical proposals.
• Prepare and present project data per applicable SOW.
• Engage with key vendors to develop technology and align with product roadmap.
• Application of technical principles, theories, and concepts to provide a wide range of technical and innovative solutions.
• Maintain awareness of and adherence to project schedules, resource commitments and financial commitments.
• Minimal Travel may be Required.

Competencies Required:   

• Working knowledge of software development process including requirements definition Programming and code development in languages like C, C++.
• Experience with electrical circuit design, circuit board level debugging and verification, electrical integration and test platform development, application level RF communication system design and verification, writing embedded C code, writing C++ and Python code for non-embedded applications, and Linux are required.
• Direct experience in electrical circuit and software test and integration, verification/validation.
• Experience with test platform design and implementation including configuration of TCP/IP based data acquisition instrumentation and controls.
• Knowledge of textbook solutions to electrical engineering problems.
• Knowledge of industry trends and customer needs.
• Maintain proficiency in the respective field of expertise and related areas through formal and self-study, professional society affiliation, professional certification, participation on cross functional improvement teams, special assignments, etc.
• Fundamental knowledge of vibration and acoustics analysis and measurement techniques. 
• Fundamental knowledge of control theory and implementation techniques (analog and digital controllers). 
• Work experience with MATLAB and dynamic signal analyzers.

Work Experience:    

Required

• Minimum work experience of 10 years in the electrical engineering field or equivalent role.

Preferred

• 10 or more years of Design, Analysis, or Test Engineering experience preferably using the Altium Suite of tools.

• Experience as a project or task leader.
• Board level debugging skills.
• Experience on RTOS, multi-task, real-time software design and development.

• Knowledge of project management techniques.
• Knowledge Stellar Technology’s product lines and emerging technologies/business development initiatives.

Education:   

Required

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
