Emerson Professional Tools is looking for a Summer ENGINEERING CO-OP to work at our ASH FLAT, ARKANSAS
manufacturing facility. We are accepting applications from candidates who can commit 30-40 hours per week and
who are starting a career in Engineering or related. The ideal candidate will be entering their junior year of school
and be open to working two terms. This position will actively participate in projects related to manufacturing process
control and process improvement.

AS AN ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL:
-Provide support for key company initiatives, such as lean implementation, downtime elimination, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
-Work with subject matter experts to measure current process performance, analyze results, develop improvement ideas, and run experiments or trials to improve results.
-Potentially be involved with new process implementation, involving developing procedures, completing problem analysis, job safety analysis, etc.
-Work with engineering and shop floor team to identify and design fixtures to improve manufacturability.
-Interface with Engineers to introduce new products to the plant and help troubleshoot problems inherent with production and improve manufacturing efficiency.
-Examine documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify the completeness and accuracy of data.
-Prepare and submit Engineering Work Orders (EWO).
-Prepare reports and memorandums as requested.
-Possibly deal with vendors or others outside of the organization.
-Possibly be involved with the evaluation of capital investments and assist in the preparation of cost justifications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
-Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field
-Completion of at least 3 semesters of coursework
-Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
-Ability to work independently, learn new tasks/handle multiple tasks, solve problems, meet deadlines, and show strong self-motivation and initiative.
-Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
-Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
-Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
