Ellsworth, an industry leader of adhesive application experts, has an Engineering Sales Representative opportunity in eastern Ohio (I.E. Sandusky, Mansfield, Columbus, Cleveland, and Akron). This role is fully remote and reports into our Specialty Chemical Distribution (SCD) Division. As an Engineering Sales Representative, you will help our customers solve their problems by leveraging your technical expertise in material selection, testing, process requirements, custom formulations, and more to design innovative solutions for their prospects. You will partner with our marketing and science team, while using your technical knowledge to captivate new customers and secure new business. The work begins with evaluating the market, developing leads, contacting prospects, making appointments, and determining application opportunities. You will audit prospects' operations, consider alternatives, prepare professional proposals and/or quotes, make winning presentations, and gain commitment from the customer. You will have personal responsibility for the care of the customer through coordination of all parties participating in this relationship.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or customer-facing sales role with a passion for technical sales, working hands-on with customers, and solving their problems. Adhesive experience is a plus.
  • Driven and self-motivated, with the ability to speak effectively and convincingly to all levels of the customer’s organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficiency on a personal computer and mobile devices along with knowledge of mathematics, database software, inventory software, project management software, spreadsheet software, and CRM software.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
