Ellsworth Adhesives specs in materials in each of those products. Ellsworth Corporation, a leading global industry distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment, currently has an EHS Intern opportunity, located in Germantown, WI.

This is a part-time position, with flexible hours, between Monday-Wednesday (averaging 10-15 hours/ week). The position is open June through August.

The EHS Intern provides support to the EHS Manager completing necessary safety-related updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Audit and work with EHS Manager and business unit contact to update current safety postings in Germantown locations.
  • Support the EHS Manager in conducting the following Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Support may include scanning/filing paperwork, recordkeeping, photography, and videography responsibilities.
    • PPE Assessments
    • Chemical Exposure Assessments
    • Noise Exposure Assessments
    • Ergonomic Risk Assessments
    • Vibration Risk Assessments
  • Review and propose standardization opportunities for new hire training. Assist in new hire training where applicable. 
  • Participate in Monthly Safety Walthroughs by escalating, documenting, and photographing concerns.
  • Support the EHS Manager in monitoring miscellaneous regulatory compliance, including but no limited to, auditing HazCom/ SDS compliance.
  • Participate in incident/ accident investigations, root cause analysis meetings, and the implementation of countermeasures.
  • Support special projects as assigned, by the Director of Corporate Compliance & Risk Managment and/ or EHS Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Capability to travel independently to/from Ellsworth locations in Germantown.
    • Employee will be stationed at Ellsworth Corporation in Germantown, with frequent travel to KitPackers/ ResinLab and Glue Dots International.
    • Employee will have multiple opportunities to visit TapeCase in Oak Grove Village, IL, with the EHS Manager. 
  • HS diploma or equivalency (GED, HSED)
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Bilingual preferred (English/ Spanish)
