BASIC FUNCTION:

The QEHS Specialist is a developmental role targeted to learning and implementing ISO45001 under the guidance of the Quality and EHS teams.  They will be a key team member responsible for gap identification, root cause and counter measure development to EHS and Quality concerns brought forth within the ISO system. Responsible person will also monitor and coordinate CP&S Environmental Health and Safety programs including inspections, incident investigations, records, auditing and trainings.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Participate as a core team member of the ISO45001 implementation project including gap analysis, counter measure development, counter measure implementation and certification
• Align the existing Quality Management System and EHS System at CP&S to confirm to ISO45001
• Learn and become an internal lead auditor for the internal auditing system
• Educate employees about workplace safety by preparing and providing training
• Obtain certification in OSHA 10 and 30 via internal training
• Assist document control for auditing conformance within the ISO system
• Assist incident investigations and implement countermeasures to reduce safety risk exposure
• Perform hazard assessments, and job safety analysis and advise on hazard elimination and proper PPE selection
• Aid in the development and updates of all CP&S EHS procedures
• Monitor SDS chemical inventory and assist in regulating new chemicals brought into the facility.
• Drive TOPS/AWTH programs to help identify unsafe behaviors and follow open actions through completion.
• Co-chair safety committees at both Piqua facilities to further drive safety culture and awareness.
• Document administrator for the Safety Management System including coordination of change activities, approvals, and publishing working documents such as SOPs, forms/templates etc.
• Control distribution and monitor workflow of controlled documents
• Other duties as assigned
