Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for Samuel sustainability programs, the Samuel Energy Management Program, and the environmental aspects of the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) program.
  • Collect and analyze sustainability and environmental data to understand performance against existing KPIs and establish new KPIs, where required.
  • Ensure the sites clearly understand and raise awareness and ownership of, leadership-endorsed, sustainability/environmental objectives and targets to work towards.
  • Interact with the sites and/or consultants to determine what factors/processes/systems have the greatest impact on the site's environmental sustainability KPIs (water, energy, waste, wastewater, etc.) and identify areas of improvement.
  • Maintain a repository of data and projects related to the ESG and Energy Management program.
  • Prepare regular status reports suitable for sharing with the sites and posting to the Company’s intranet site.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned
  • May require travel from time to time

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in science or other relevant field of study.  

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in an environmental, sustainability or energy related role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to develop positive relationships and effectively influence key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated self-starter that can operate independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Superior organization and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting environmental and sustainability data.
  • Support the preparation of annual disclosures, including our ESG report, CDP and EcoVadis submissions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially EXCEL).
  • Limited travel within North America.
