Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist for the Boeing Exploration Launch Systems program supporting production of the NASA SLS Core Stage. This position is located at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
- Guides the development or improvement of non-destructive inspection or test techniques.
- Develops, deploys and implements tests or inspections and data collection techniques utilizing evolving technology.
- Develops program specific non-destructive testing documents.
- Develops and implements processes and procedures for new or revised non-destructive testing methods.
- Audits, validates and approves systems and techniques of suppliers and processors.
- Develops certification training and examinations.
This position is for a variable shift.
This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
The ability to obtain program access for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience in NDT (non-destructive test)
- 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Current Radiography NDT Certification (Level 2 or Level 3)
- 3+ years of experience using Digital Radiography systems
- More than 3 years of experience using Eddy Current equipment.
- Experience in UT/MT/PT
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
Typical Education/Experience:
AA degree in related discipline and typically 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
