Explosive Safety Officer
Job Summary
ESO professionals work behind the scenes to ensure smooth, continuous operations to ensure safe, secure, and efficient transportation, storage, and delivery of all materials in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
The Explosives Safety Officer will ensure safe, secure, and efficient transportation, storage, and delivery of all materials in compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The Explosive Safety Officer will report directly to the District Manager of the assigned base.
Essential Functions:
• Manage inventory transaction related to receipt, distribution, and delivery of products
• Perform functions that affect explosive safety during handling, storage, transportation, and maintenance
• Perform quality checks related to inspection, receiving, storage, issuing, testing, and classification of explosives
• Participate in cycle counting, physical checks, quarterly audits, and any other audits as required.
• Performs weekly explosive magazine maintenance
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed by base management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrates confidence with numerical computation and reasoning
• Strong MS-Office and computer skills
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain, a "Possessor of Explosive" clearance and certification
• Must be able to operate a forklift as required
• Demonstrate understanding and follow-up on detailed oral or written instructions
• Self-starter, strong work ethic, and ability to be a team player
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Periodically will be performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat or cold, near moving mechanical parts

• Walk short distances, sometimes over uneven terrain
• Perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion, sometimes under extreme weather conditions
