Facilities Maintenance Technician (HVAC Cert.)

This opening is intended to be a Full time position.
Compensation: 19-21/hr, DOE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain and repair all facilities equipment, including heating and cooling systems, cranes, compressors, parts washers, hose making equipment and electrical and plumbing systems.
- Set up and remodel workspaces for new and existing employees.
- Perform landscape maintenance and sanitation.
- General maintenance duties as needed.

- Report any unsafe acts or conditions.

- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Working-level knowledge of English, including reading, writing and speaking.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, hydraulic and irrigation systems and/or construction techniques strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.
- Ability to comprehend building schematics and blueprints.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED is required. Trade school graduate preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a maintenance or construction trade.
- Professional trade license preferred.
- Must meet personal tooling requirements.

- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Stand/walk 6-7 hours a day. Sit 1-2 hours a day.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
- Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
- Must be able to work from man-lifts at various heights.
- Must be able to wear/utilize the complete range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.

- Shop areas with exposure to noise and dirt. Outside exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt and noise.
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Work on-call or rotating shifts as needed.
- Occasional travel when needed.
