Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Field Service Lead to oversee a team providing telecommunications support for Edwards AFB.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of inside plant and outside plant technicians to install, operate, and maintain the copper, fiber, and coaxial infrastructure supporting Edwards AFB.  Design and document new and/or updated inside and outside plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements using commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide installation plans required for installation of outside plant cables and underground infrastructure. 

Qualifications

5+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure, facility design, and installation, including at least three years in a supervisory or lead position.  Must hold a current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.  Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.  Must have extensive experience developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.  Experience developing layout and design for outside plant infrastructure systems.  Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry standards and practices regarding the installation and maintenance of outside plant infrastructure.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
