Job Description:

Formulation Senior Scientist role is the technical connection between formulation with innovation, science and technology and value leadership requests of low and medium complexity. This Associate is responsible for recipes in a global scale about COGS & technical challenges according to required product design framework in compliance with Safety & Nutritional Guidelines, assuring that they will be sustainable and feasible for the business.

This position is also focused on operations support with close contact to Supply and Commercial, responding to troubleshooting 3. This role will bring insights in MRA (material risk assessment) process for new and novel materials used in global innovation projects.

This role will bring support and oversight for co-man recipes development and validation.

What are we looking for?

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Food Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Industrial Engineer). ·

  • Advanced English required.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing factories, preferably in Quality and/or R&D.

  • Raw materials and nutrition knowledge.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Green/Black Belt Six Sigma

  • Supply/Commercial experience or managing Quality as stakeholder.

  • Product/Formulation/Optimization experience and Ingredient Development.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Responsible for bringing insights to MRA process (lead by raw material developer) for new or novel materials. This role will bring technical expertise looking at the risks identified for

    the materials and assessing the impact of inclusion level (defining a max level of inclusion to include in formulation framework when needed) or if other materials don’t also bring equivalent risks (cumulative effects).

  • Raw materials integration into formulation system (raw materials profile creation populating RM characteristic from lab results, supplier spec and data, external literature …) and formulation/optimization for global scale projects.

  • This role will have MRA contribution by bringing formulation technical expertise during the process and supporting regional formulators on MRA adaptation when products are deployed.

  • Maintain governance that nutrition and Food Safety recipe risks are considered consistently across the globe.

  • Understand and communicate global trends in terms of finished product and raw materials and make sure they are tracked and involved in VL agenda while evaluating key strategic opportunities for quality improvement and costs saving.

  • Support global and regional teams on co-man formulas definitions and validation. To do this, the formulation Sr Scientist will work closely with Prototyping PD roles dedicated to co-man projects, particularly with the global co-man team and roles based in Thailand.

  • Assist Formulation Lead and Formulation Manager in alignment with relevant global and regional stakeholders, both within R&D and across the broader business (e.g. supply, demand).
