General Maintenance Worker

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • · Responsible for supporting duties as assigned for facility maintenance, grounds, inventory/warehouse, loading dock freight and material handling.

  • · Responsible for performing basic rough and finish carpentry work and preparing various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain or repairs wall coverings. Assist with repair on doors, locks, hinges, ceiling tiles and other facility maintenance.

  • · Perform as primary backup for mail handling operations.

  • · Responsible for responding in a timely manner to scheduled/unscheduled tenant requests for a variety of maintenance issues.

  • · Assist as an overall site maintenance support specialist.

Additional Responsibilities

  • · Report to supervisor any damaged racks, faulty equipment, or other safety hazard.

  • · Maintain a clean, neat orderly work area.

  • · May perform or assist in warehouse, grounds and equipment maintenance.

  • · Assist in all freight and material handling.

  • · Comply and coordinate with all dock master policies and procedures.

  • · Comply with OSHA guidelines

  • · Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • · High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent is required.

  • · Minimum of 1-2 years’ work experience in carpentry and painting required.

  • · Experience providing maintenance and repairs of buildings preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • · Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, memos, labels, and numbers.

  • · Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • · Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software.

  • · Ability to learn Bear Tracks Mail handling software.

  • · Ability to divide and add and subtract two-digit numbers.

  • · Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet ServiceSource and current applicable government legibility requirements or that become applicable to this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and walk and sit. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
