The General Manager for Precision Solutions is responsible for:  1) developing and implementing breakthrough product and channel strategies that grow global market share, revenues, and margins, and 2) directing and overseeing manufacturing of Precision Solutions products at multiple plant locations to ensure that quality products are delivered to customers on time in a cost effective manner.  This includes delivering high performance and continuous improvement in safety, productivity, engineering, preventative maintenance, supply chain processes, and inventory management. The incumbent is further responsible for developing and nurturing supplier and customer relationships to expand market share.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Leadership & Strategy 

  • Develops and implements organic & inorganic growth strategies to drive revenue growth and margin expansion of Precision Solutions Business Unit. 
  • Provides business unit leadership to achieve revenue, profitability and working capital goals. Understands, anticipates, and meets the demands of our global customer base.  
  • Oversees the development and execution of Go-To-Market strategy and plans for product lines including new or modified channels and geographies. Identifies, supports, and drives plans to develop key growth markets, and key customers. Ensures Hyperion is positioned with an appropriate breadth of product offerings and appropriate pricing strategies. 
  • Develops and implements policy deployment initiatives (X-matrix) to drive "breakthrough" performance in commercial and operational to support both the long-term business objectives and short-term organizational goals.  
  • Ensures seamless integration of acquired companies, specifically focuses and executes on synergies.  


Business Management 

  • Forecasts sales volume requirements and oversees the development of production plans to deliver On-time, manage inventory and meet the forecast. 
  • Leads commercial engagement and negotiations with key customers and partners 
  • Oversees development of strategies for new product introductions. Ensures development of product launch plans to drive rapid sales ramp to target customers.  Ensures maximum return on new product development investment by prioritizing product development projects based on potential growth and resource intensity. 
  • Implements standard processes and KPIs to track and report on progress against growth goals and objectives.  Assesses progress and swiftly acts to correct underperforming areas.
  • Ensures the health and safety of the workforce and facilities. Ensures adherence to Hyperion EHS guidelines and regulatory requirements.  



  • Champions the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and lean tools to drive continuous improvement. Establishes systems and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implements initiatives to increase safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.  Promotes and utilizes Kaizen events.
  • Ensures production and on-time delivery targets are achieved by overseeing and coordinating development of production plans; managing materials resources; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; and resolving problems
  • Ensures adherence to company standards for quality and ISO processes.
  • Directs and oversees the maintenance of facilities and equipment including:  cleaning and preventive maintenance; consulting with equipment manufacturers; advising regarding contracting for special maintenance services; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and processes.
  • Identifies areas for capital investments, consolidates cost estimates and makes recommendations.


Cross-Functional Engagement & People Management

  • Collaborates with Finance team to monitor financial performance. Monitors trends, anticipates, and identifies variances, develops, and implements action plans to course correct. Participates in financial forecasts and annual budget process for labor, capital, and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates with R & D to develop new products, product enhancements, and product redesigns that will satisfy customer and market demands.
  • Collaborates with Marketing to develop and implement integrated content, promotion, and creative campaigns to drive growth and maximize customer value. Collaborates with Marketing & Communications to develop online and offline marketing campaigns with sound measurement to build brand equity and develop sales opportunities. 
  • Participates with other senior managers in developing strategy for the entire company.

Education and/or Work Experience:  

  • BS/MS in Engineering or a business-related discipline 
  • 10 + years commercial and manufacturing leadership experience


Technical Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to drive change and achieve business results.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and respond to challenging situations.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to maintain, understand, and communicate operational and financial metrics, and use metrics to drive performance.  Must have experience managing costs.
  • Proven commercial skills set with a track record of revenue and profitability growth. 
  • Experienced in leading within a “lean” environment emphasizing goal attainment and continuous improvement 
  • The ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate with others across the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently.
  • A self-starter who is comfortable operating in a metric-driven, performance oriented, global organization.        



  • Travel up-to 50% of the time
